The new building undergoing expansion at Prato Hospital accommodates a total of 104 beds and extends over four floors, three of which are above ground. Its gross floor area is 7,337 square meters, divided as follows: 1,344 square meters for the basement, 1,665 square meters for the ground floor, 2,049 square meters for the first floor, and 1,963 square meters for the second floor.
The ground floor of the new building has a separate entrance and accommodates 12 beds for the Mental Health service, as well as an area dedicated to outpatient activities with nine clinics. The First Floor accommodates 53 inpatient beds, including 4 for immunocompromised patients, while the Second Floor accommodates the Oncology Ward (with 15 beds), the Oncology Day Hospital (with another 24 beds), and includes an outpatient area as well as the Translational and Bioinformatics Laboratory. The external cladding was constructed using off-site JJ Modules, with external skimming and colored plaster already applied in the factory, allowing for quick construction without the need for scaffolding. The building boasts excellent thermal and acoustic performance as well as fire resistance of EI120.
